Crowned Miss Texas for America Strong 2022, Megan Porter continues in the race for Miss America 2022.
She draws inspiration from her adversities to break generations of depravity in healthcare, focusing on minority communities. Porter uses her platform as Miss Texas to shine awareness on age-related health screenings. She uses her clinical expertise to bring attention to this conversation around the world to advocate for a better quality of life.
As a leading Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in family health care, preventive care, and aesthetics injecting, Porter is a proud Board Member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She serves on the Board of Aesthetic Medical Educators Training. She is also the Director of the SugaProject, a foundation created to bring awareness to appropriately and effectively manage type two diabetes and help decrease the risk of developing it in African American communities.
Deeply conscious of the nescience surrounding proper healthcare, Porter formed a platform in 2020 called "Talks with MP the NP" to bring awareness and education to the public on vast health care concerns, promoting the importance of preventive health.
Alongside her purpose-driven desire to educate the public on healthcare and wellness, Porter uses her platform as Miss Texas for America to empower others, inspire and be an example to a younger generation of women and girls. Porter has impacted a large community of young teens by becoming a proud Board Member of the Holy Girls Rock Purity organization to help young women see the importance of waiting for sex until marriage.
Porter desires to use her platform to show that our heart's posture reveals our true beauty. Her greatest desire is to impact everyone in such a unique way to feel beautiful, loved, and empowered in every encounter. She hopes this message gets across:
